“Looking out on the morning rain, I used to feel so uninspired....”
Aretha was singing my song this morning as I had one eye on the downpour outside my window, and the other on my blank computer screen. I’ve been experiencing an inspiration dryspell. My creativity has been lackluster at best, and I have been battling some serious writer’s block. I’ve toyed with the idea of taking a creative writing class to re-light my vernacular spark. And then, ta-dah!, a friend mentioned this to me.
Nanowrimo announces November as National Novel Writing month, challenging folks to take a stab at producing a 50,000 piece of literature in just 30 days. It doesn’t have to be Pulitzer-worthy writing. It’s about quantity, not quality, folks. It is simply an exercise in inking out words when it don’t come easy. And, boy, do I ever need the practice.
I will not likely be sharing my finished product with anyone, as I don’t anticipate it being anything to write home about.... but, I need someone holding me to my decision to give this a go. So, thanks to the prodding of a fellow wordsmith, I’m taking the plunge. Any one else with me?

Okey doke, I'm in! Hmm... may not be a novel, but it'll be a manuscript! 1,666 words a day for 30 days sounds like a lot, but heck I guess we do that much on here sometimes! I've signed up, but will have to figure out how it works. Looks like the challenge begins Nov. 1... yay, book wraps before Christmas! "Trust Life's unfolding..."
