looking for eau d'me

if you read my bday list blog, then you know i’m on the search for a new fragrance. last week i took some time to go on an internet info scrounge fest and decided to order some samples from luckyscent.com.

before those samples even got here – a surprise package arrived! it was a collection of ineke scents from editor goddess jenny maxwell of columbia, sc fame. even the package itself is pretty swanky, a sturdy little pull out box with each sample scent in its own smaller old-fashioned matchstick-like box, with the tubes wrapped in a sweet little colored paper to match each scent’s personality. (the kind of gift that is so good-looking you don’t want to use, but you have to because what’s in side is so immediate and decadent)

there are 5 total, each one has a name starting with A, B, C, D, or E (letters and design, an editor’s love-fest). thus far my two favorites are B – balmy days and sundays, and A is starting to grow on me – after my own heart. however, after reading about osmanthus and just noticing the note listed in E – evening edged in gold, i will have to take a long sniff of it when i get back home today!

and now this morning my luckyscent sample package has arrived, yippee! immediately, i swabbed some comme de garcons series 8: energy c grapefruit on my wrist. i want to eat my hand it is so delicious. and for those who are anti-citrus: it’s a heck of a lot more complex than a face full of juice.it is awesome times one billion. it smells like someone, i can’t put my finger on who, exactly, but the scent is so fresh and young that i don’t want to think too hard on who it might be in case it is someone me no likey.

i feel awake and aware, i feel young and smart and ready to write, create, and kick ass.

and just imagine, besides taking a closer look at the inekes, i still have 4 more luckyscents to go!
