I was reading an article about the hurricane and that Houstonians that weren’t in the evacuation areas were being asked to “hunker down.” I cracked up when I read that on msn.com. Isn’t that great how the media makes us sound in Texas? Well the guy in the Texas department who was quoted in saying this didn’t help matters. So we’ve decided to “hunker down” and wait it out.
We drove out during Rita and we were stuck in horrible traffic, so I do not want to do that again. I’d rather prepare the house and ride it out.
My son had a rough week. My husband was called on Monday to come and “talk” to him. On Tuesday he was sent home. But I refuse to give in. I sent him to school on Wednesday and again on Thursday and things were a little better. All we can do is take it week by week and sometimes day by day.
They are off from school tomorrow to give families time to prepare for the hurricane, whether it’s by evacuating or by getting our houses prepared. I’m off from work tomorrow too. Thank goodness! I’m using it to prepare the house for the storm. It should hit tomorrow night, at 2 a.m. Saturday. We will start feeling it before that because the storm is huge. Wish us well!
