Ah, that’s better.
Now I can say a proper goodbye.
I’m heading back to college to start my senior
year tomorrow, so my summer is officially over. I want to thank everyone so
much for reading my blog over the past few months. It’s been such a pleasure to
spend my summer doing what I love, and it’s an even greater pleasure to know
that I’m writing for such a wonderful audience. I’ll still be blogging here as
often as I can, but I’ll have a lot on my plate as a senior. Thanks so much for
reading this summer, and for responding with such insight and wisdom. I’m
honoured to be a part of this remarkable community.
I wanted to leave you with this wonderful poster, which won the 2008 Love Your Body Day poster contest. I think it’s wonderfully inspiring - a visual reminder of the things that really matter, and what it is that makes a woman truly beautiful.

Love Your Body is a part of the NOW Foundation, and their site has great suggestions on how to raise media-literate kids and well as ways college and high school women can raise awareness of body image issues on their campuses. They also have a page of offensive ads and a page of positive ads (guess which page is bigger).
You can see the runner-up posters and send them to your friends as e-cards here. This is another favourite:

Thanks for the links to the posters. I'm getting one for each of my daughter's bedrooms... and a dozen more for my eldest daughter's dorm. We can't be reminded enough that a woman shouldn't be measured by her bust or waistline.
