Jenny's Girlfriends

I heard on the news today that Jenny Sanford showed up at the SC Governor's Mansion with 3 or 4 girlfriends, and they packed up her stuff and the kids', loaded up several SUVs, and headed on back to her beach house near Charleston.  And that made me smile.

I'm not exactly sure why except I think she's a pretty classy lady, and I'm guessing she has some pretty good friends.  And they decided that when the whole world comes crashing down around you, and THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS, it's time to take charge.  I would love to have been a fly on the wall when they were planning that caper.

And now they're getting her settled in the beach house.  Meanwhile, I'm guessing, some other friends -- moms of her sons' friends -- took her boys out to fun places, maybe to back-to-school parties for their new school.  And some friends brought sunflowers and some brought wine, and this very evening, Jenny and her girlfriends are having a glass of wine or two, basking in that fresh ocean breeze, and drinking a toast to Today.  God only knows what tomorrow holds for any of us, but today I think Jenny and her friends pulled off the kind of thing girlfriends do best.

God couldn't be everywhere at once, so he gave us girlfriends and sisters.
