My Dear Tom Holland
By Mi, Monday, January 23, 2012I woke up this morning and quickly went back to sleep. It's my day off of work, it's raining, I have no appointments, so why stay awake?
Eventually, I go from sleeping there to laying there, and I got up. Then I remembered you. And I wan'ted to put you off, but with the weather looking worse, I decided to go run.
I checked your Appendix --apparently I should run three miles today.
I stretch a bit, adjust the Nano and go out.
I don't run right away--I never do, Tom. Or perhaps you don't know that. Reguardless of your expectation of me, my tradition has been to walk the first half mile of any outting.. Eventulally I will walk a half mile THEN run three. but at week two --our methods are still geling.
I run a bit and the Nano says--You've gone one Kilometer.
That's nice-- I'll keep running, and hopping puddles, snow and slush.
I wind my way through town and past houses I considered buying.
my shins hurt Tom darling, but I'm going to keep going because I keep thiking of my niece Katie who --inspite of being too youong to run the half marathon with me--has resolved to train with me.Nano announces in the middle of a counting crows song that I'm at 2 kilometers.
I wonder what that means exactily--having never been taught metric system.
I keep running around town and eventually I go past the physical therapy office that helped me with my bad leg--so that i could run again--I wave to the people using the treadmills and arm bike, and Nano announces I have only 600meters to go--I decided that the pizza place is about that far--guessing incorrectly, and having to run around it to the back of the building before I hear Nano annocunce that I ame done for the day.
just 14 more weeks to go Tom.
