Enough of that scene

I was watching a movie--and it was a pretty good movie--and it was holding my attention and keeping me interested, and I was having a good time.

Then all of a sudden, the hero jumps into a truck--carrying along a young woman who is incapacitated by drugs (he was rescuing her)

the bad guys--then all got into trucks and followed the hero--and they were firing high power assult rifles at the  hero.

Not one bullet scratched the hero--or the girl--bullets riddled the side of the truck--the top of the truck, and the back of the truck--He was fine, and  handsom and the truck was holding up and thriving bouncing through the construction site .

and I'm tired of pretendingthat I think this is possible.  Some thing is going to hit him--

One bullet is going to bounce over and nick him.

Once during this 2 minute scene he did in fact react to something hitting his hand but he recovered quickly and killed 4 bad guys.

Now, if the two dozen bad guys  with the home field advantage can't hit him with high power assult rifles at close range

How is it possible that he can kill them all with a semi automatic standard issue pistol?

I know it's a movie- but I just think--that this may have wowed audiences 30 years ago-- but I just can't pretend to believe it anymore, and it is ruining it all for me.

I did keep watching the show--and I even was willing to accept that bad guys will wait thier turns to die if they out number you 5 to 1--

and I can accept the lucky stroke of not every bad guy is as observant as the one with the walkie talkie and some of them will die because they didn't hear you killing the others.

I accept some of that stuff.  but the Movie sequence of 1 guy being peppered by bullets through an open window by 10 other guys and nothing hits him--has to be sent to the movie mortuary just like other special effects that we don't use any more, like

Monster suits with visible zippers

Women who wilingly and knowning go into creepy haunted houses looking for missing boyfriends.

Firing a gun sideways, while sliding on your pistol hand through broken glass and hot ash.

Explosions that don't cause concussions to everyone in a 2 mile radius.

See?  I'm sort of done with that stuff.

and this after noon, I turned on a movie by accident--and started to watch it--its very title begs me to suspend my belief of reality.

I comply--for at least 10 minutes.

The Matrix.  I watched Keanue flip around and run in the air and kill 6 guys who could all do the same--ok sure...I'lll keep watching.

Then I watched two white washed dred loched guys materialize and de-materalize like ghosts in sunglasses, getting shot and recoviering from those injuries with the whisp of a special effect program ...I kept watching.

then they started driving....and shooting eachother. and NO one was hit!

No one!   bullets shot from a highpower assult rifle by a man who can disappear like a fart--using a marksman's scope--couldn't kill Lawerence Fishburn.--Really?  All that skill and he's weakest at shooting guns?

So, I kept watching--but I put it on mute.

and then it got worse---people jumped onto a truck carrying motorcycles---and drove them away....

Right.  Becuase everyone knows that the car dealer puts the keys of the brand new motor cycles in the ignitions while they are in route from the factory to the dealer....I'm fairly sure the truck driver doesn't get the keys  for what he's hauling. Why not?  So he doens' steal them?
Yeah, that and so no onne slits his throat  and robs him like he's a stage coach driver in the wild west.

Eventually, The two farts trying to kill Lawrence Fishburn, flip thier car, and Lawrence walks up and calmyly shoots it in the undercarriage so it explodes like a refinery accident --whithout cuasing a single concussion---or even requiring Lawrence to flinch--but we do get to see

the 700 foot tall ball of flame and the thanks to the special effects program, the facial expressions of the two farts as they whisp away to an unexpected oblivion.

I decided that in all the years that I had never seen The Matrix, or it's Sequals--I hand't missed anything but special effects I dont' want to watch.
