What's Major!
By Lynzie_with_a_z, Friday, July 9, 2010Haute Couture in Paris! Celine Dion belting out notes and birthing out babies! and Wendy's fast food introducing "real" food? What were we eating before?
The Haute Couture Shows In Paris are major! A French phrase for high sewing or high dressmaking- haute couture shows are my favorite! The best fabrics the most creative designs. I am in loooove! Sadly, however, very few people actually buy from these shows and this week in fashion is dying a slow, sad, death in the French heat of summer. Even big hitters like Christian Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Elie Saab and Jean Paul Gaultier aren't drawing in the crowds. At the height of haute couture in 1945, there were 100 designers presenting collections. Now there are 17 :(
And somehow, still, as they dwindle, the beauty and drama of these clothes walk on!

I would like to be buried in the light green Elie Saab dress please!
Continuing... Soooooo Celine Dion is pregnant... yes pregnant (and wait for it).... with TWIN boys! That is major! Yes, thanks to in-vitro, 6 years of trying, and her 68-year-old husband René Angélil (yikes!) the sparkling singer is knocked up! WOWZA!
Lastly, Wendy's is serving better food- major! USA Today reports that "Wendy's is introducing a line of salads such as Apple Pecan Chicken and BLT Cobb as the fast-food chain tailors its sales pitch to focus on "real" ingredients to appeal to foodies." Foodies, huh? My question is how are they going to over look the nasty oozing bathrooms and stale fry-littered-floors to try these amazing salads? No matter, any time a fast food chain decides to change their greasy ways- I am all for it.
The line of four salads is available nationwide starting Friday. The salads retail for $5.99, about $1 more than the previous Garden Sensations line. As an added bonus they are also starting to dip their toes in the breakfast market as well, hoping that if these two ventures succeed, they will continue revamping the rest of the menu items!
Bon Appétit!
