I'm not sure why I let the dog in

I’m not sure why I let the dog sleep inside last night.

At the time, I was afraid Loopy would freeze to death – but now I’m going to kill her myself.

I emptied all the trash cans and the litter box before she came in. I know some things are just too tempting. I closed all the bedroom and bathroom doors, removing more temptations. I checked the pantry door to make sure it was closed securely.

And I tossed and turned, listening to her baton-like tail whack the walls, the table, the bookshelf, probably the cat. I left my bedroom door open so I could hear if she did something like eat the cat or knock the oil lamp off the buffet, and eventually I slept. Mistake.

Apparently, the pantry door wasn’t secure after all. When I heard that baton tail at 3:15, I got up and discovered Loopy had opened it and eaten every one of her treats out of both bags. I also discovered she has an affinity for evaporated milk. She did, however leave some on the living room carpet for me, along with several of the packets she’d opened. There was a pretzel bag, too.

Somehow, she also managed to take maple syrup down from a higher shelf and NOT eat through the bottle. Thank goodness! I was also amazed to see the catfood bag still intact and full, despite being moved from the pantry to the other side of the kitchen.

After I threw her out of the house and headed back to the bedroom, I saw the bathroom door open. That rat couldn’t even leave an empty trash can alone. It was on its side, bag removed.

She’s lucky I let her back in.

Well, I HAD to share with you

Well, I HAD to share with you that my family has a dog named "Loopy" as well!!! How random is that?!  We actually spell it "Lupi," but he lives up to his name all the time. ;)
