By pleatedskirtguy, Monday, January 11, 2010http://www.womencorp.org/?p=73#comment-1776 has discussion of getting young boys out of "playful dresses" into what child psychologist thinks they should wear. Image is of US boy with his mother in 1890 when boys up to age six were commonly dressed---by CHRISTIAN parents--- in skirts, dresses and petticoats as seen at Webshots. Meantime, as of 1912, Mary Walker was almost the only trousered woman in America (seen in NY Times). It seems the only thing people are aware of is current practice and why should any child psychologist have any historical perspective? It's all a "when in Rome do as the Romans do" unreasoning mish-mash of "conform or else."
