Was It A Fellini Film?
 
This morning as I was driving my hybrid Camry to a doctor’s appointment, I felt I was in a Christmas themed Fellini film. I stopped at a red light and glanced in my rear view mirror and couldn’t believe my eyes. There resplendent in his late model Cadillac was Santa himself. He was looking at a little red book. Naughty or nice, who knows?
 
I sat there laughing waiting for the light to change. Then a tall thin man dressed in a plaid kilt (Is there any other kind?) wearing a jaunty beret loped by in the crosswalk. I shook my head and looked back into my rear view mirror. Yep, Santa was still there checking his book. I briefly thought that forty degree weather is a little nippy for a kilt!
 
Then, behind the Scot came a brown cattle dog with its head down and its shoulders hunched in full herding mode!  He followed the Scot across the street and then continued to herd him across the next crosswalk. Damn it! Why didn’t I take a picture with my cell phone?  I shook my head and thought that somewhere Fellini must be smiling.
