viewsTo Go Or Not To Go…To The High School Reunion ? …That Is The Question!
By lostcroc, Thursday, July 15, 2010, 2 commentsOkay, I’ve been away from the blog for most of the year. I just wasn’t inspired to write anything for awhile. Now, something interesting has come up-my high school reunion and not just any reunion-the 30th!!! Holy mother of God, I am getting so old!! Crap where did the time go??
If I go to this shindig, it will be the first one I have ever attended. I’m about 75% convinced that I should. If I wait until I am the perfect weight (ain’t never gonna happen), have the perfect career (still clueless on just what that will be) or have lots of money (yeah, right!), I will never attend one of these damn things.
On the plus side, I figure that life has knocked around most of these people enough by now that they might be fun. Also, after thirty years, most of them will be unrecognizable. That could be some real fun schadenfreude for me.
I started writing this on a day when I was feeling allot more positive than today. Today, I feel like a middle-aged overweight underachiever. I’m not sure I would even want to hang out with me.
Anyway, if anyone has ever attended one of these things and would like to share about the experience, I would love to read about it. Was it worth going or was it all just a colossal waste of time? Let Me Know.

I attended my 25-year reunion
I attended my 25-year reunion last year. The feeling I came away with is that everyone there has the same apprehensions. "I never married, what will people think?" "I've been divorced twice, what will people think?" "I've gain so much weight since high school, what will people think?" "I don't have a career, I stay at home with the kids, what will people think?"
From my experience, they'll think that it's wonderful to see you.

Thanks! Yesterday was a real bad day at work and I guess I let it get to me. I have been hesitating about signing up for the reunion or paying any money. If I go ahead and do that then I will be committed!
