Addiction to Fiction!

Okay, I admit it. I have a serious television addiction. I don’t drink because I’m allergic to hops and tannins and Lord knows what else. I’ve never smoked even though I have a husky voice and many people make that assumption when I open my mouth to speak. I don’t like not being in control, so of course drugs are and always were out of the question. Many of you are already thinking that I must be some sort of Holy Roller. No far from it! 

I can cuss a sailor under the table and I have always loved sex. I am a tomboy sort of girl and I hate to admit it here; but, I have never liked most women very much. I prefer guys because they are more dog-like. They are for the most part more honest and direct. They have simple wants and needs and if you treat them right they are as loyal as a Labrador Retriever!
 
 
Okay, if you are still with me, I have to admit that I have a very bad habit. I watch way too much television. I will say in my own defense that I have good taste in most of what I watch. However, I am not a snob. I loves me some good reality TV! I watch Amazing Race, Biggest Loser, and Survivor! I also love some of the cooking reality shows like Hell’s Kitchen (Gordon is hot!) And Top Chef (Padma is hot too!). I also watch American Idol (secret crush on Simon!).
 
 
My taste is more discerning in the drama arena. My favorite show is Lost. I like the fact that it requires a commitment, just like a good relationship. If you haven’t watched it for the first five years, fagedaboutit! You would need at least a week or two just to watch it and catch up! It challenges the intellect too because you never can be sure about what is going on. Also, any show that would give me 6 years of Josh Holloway is a wonderful thang!
 
 
I watch CSI and CSI Miami. My favorite of the two is Miami because I love the character Horatio Caine. I also watch NCIS; but, mostly because my husband likes it and we can watch together. If I had to cut back to just one of the three CSI Miami would be my choice.
 
 
In the arena of dramas that don’t have the letter csi in them I watch Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, Grey’s Anatomy and House. If I had to cut back on these, I would have to choose to continue watching House. Hugh Laurie is hot even when he’s playing a grouchy doctor with a bad leg and a Vicodin habit! I love it when he’s interviewed and I get to hear his English accent…yummy!
 
 
There are more shows like 24 and my one comedy My Name is Earl; but, I really have to stop now!
 
 
Part of my problem is that I am enabled by a device called TIVO! He is like my crack dealer, even though he just deals me my television shows. I know in a TIVO free world that I would have to make some hard choices and I would. Just like any other addict, I want tell you that I can live with this. I can function in the world!
 
 
“What time is it? What’s on right now? You know what, I gotta go. TIVO is calling and I don’t want to miss what he has for me. Chow!”
