25 Things About 25 Things

There is this viral sharing thing happening on Facebook (and it's not the kind that requires antibiotics) called "25 Random Things" and I can't get enough. Here's how it works: someone posts 25 supposedly interesting things about themselves on Facebook and then tags 25 friends to do the same. In honor of this strange little custom, I have written "25 Things about 25 Things."

  1. I am both horrified and humbled by people who share 25 random things about themselves.
  2. How can people spill this stuff in public?
  3. I am way too guarded to open up like that.
  4. Shouldn't a friendship grow organically? If I've known you for 25 years or split a bottle of wine with you, then yes, I probably do know that you're not much into health food; you are into champagne. But if I just met you, there's no need to tell me you have half a brain.
  5. No question it is my inability/unwillingness to share myself that results in my really only having two and a half friends, despite what my Facebook profile says.
  6. 25 Things reads a bit like celebrity profiles in women's magazines:  my friends all have wonderful lives, amazing children, fulfilling careers and caring spouses who happen to be their best friends.
  7. Who knew?
  8. For all of you who post 25 Random Things, but would NEVER send a Christmas letter: you pretty much just did.
  9. If you are tagged in a 25 things post it means your friend wants to know more about you.
  10. If you are not, then they don’t really give a sh#$% about you.
  11. Only two and a half friends have tagged me.
  12. The rest of you can go to hell.
  13. Despite everything I've written here, I am addicted to 25 Things.
  14. First thing this morning, I poured a cup of coffee and read three posts.
  15. I felt like a voyeur. Here's what I learned:
  16. One friend drinks tea.
  17. Another friend watches the television show Lost.
  18. Now I know why the exercise is called 25 random things and not 25 interesting things.
  19. The third friend is married to the most wonderful guy on the planet.
  20. Sorry darling, that must mean I am not.
  21. I expect to be de-friended by at least 25 people (including my husband) after they read this post.
  22. I can't say I blame any of you.
  23. But I'll miss you because…
  24. I have the best friends on the planet.
  25. Thank you all for sharing.

25 Things About 25 Things

haha

In 24, you forgot to say, "I have the best 2-1/2 friends on the planet." heehee. Loved this. And, hey, I tagged no one, cuz it might seem to some a bit creepy that I was inviting them, personally, into my secrets. (My secrets are rarely dull and, quite frankly, I probably should've steered more toward dull.) What amazes me is how many MORE things I recalled after posting. Good thing they limited me to 25! "Trust Life's unfolding..."

Thanks Ladies

A friend of mine posted on his FB status that he was upping the ante and writing 25,000 things. I can't wait to read them.
