Paper or Plastic?

Real women in L.A. often talk about the fake women in L.A.  We can’t believe men can really be attracted to collagen injected lips, silicone breasts, hair extensions, tattooed make-up or spray on tans.  Listen to the words associated with products that help women look like plastic dolls; make-up, what are they trying to make up for?  Cover up, again what are they trying to cover or conceal, there, another one, concealer.  Foundation, we all know how important a strong foundation is to building anything.  There is plenty of chatter around the subject of women and self esteem.  After all, look how many magazines are on the shelves telling women how to look better to ultimately attract men.

But what kind of men do we want to attract?  Real ones?  Men that have rough hands because they use them, thick eyebrows or chest hair because they have testosterone or maybe even a little gut because they carry weight in their stomachs.  Do we want a dream man or a real man?  I think if women focus on qualities instead of looks in themselves first then we can find our dream men right here on earth, while we are awake.  Now don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t kick Patrick Dempsey or Adrian Grenier out of bed for eating crackers but I don’t know too many men around here that look like them.  Funny, self assured, considerate, courageous, wise, talented people no matter what they look like should be revered.  Let’s celebrate all of our qualities, male and female and not judge each other on appearance.  And let’s get real!

Paper or Plastic?

Lovely Linda, how supurbly

Lovely Linda, how supurbly said. Yes, I wouldn't kick Brad Pitt out of bed, but I'd still take 'My Real Man' over him. Great job, as usual XX~ K

And dang I do love my man and his taut gut...

The whole idea of botox and collagen lips makes me cringe - though I see no prob with hair extensions, if that's what floats someone's boat, and spray tan is certainly healthier than sun-baked ones. Hmm... maybe I'm just thinking this way cuz I'm getting ready to head to the Kentucky Derby and I sure wish I had a tan for my sundress and I do wish my hair would grow longer without split ends. haha. But disclaimers aside... YEAH WOMAN, I'm right there wid ya! ;-) "Trust Life's unfolding..."

Linda, you are right - we do

Linda, you are right - we do need to look at the whole person. And certainly I've known a lot of beautiful people who become very unattractive once you get to know them and the opposite is true as well. In fact when I first met my husband my friend said, "He is really cute," and I made a face at her. (As in THAT GUY???) By the end of the night his amazing personality and humor won me over and I still think he is the cutest boy in the world (well maybe second to our son!)

Spray on Tans

I've gotten sprayed by a fellow blogger (Debbie) and I must say, I felt sexy. Also knowing I wasn't taking in harmful rays, I felt healthy too. So I must say, I'm somewhat of a fan of the spray on tan, as long as it looks natural. www.lindalatta.com/blog/
