About Me

Kids: Have young kid(s)

Political Leaning: Mod

Name: Lisa Baron

Occupation: Author

Education: Enough

Relationship Status: Committed Relationship

More about Me: 1972 – Lisa is the second born girl to parents Marilyn and Michael in Los Angeles, California 1979 – Lisa attends kindergarten. A fellow student who only speaks Spanish joins the class. She will need a shadow. The teacher asks if there is anyone in the class who speaks Spanish as well as English, Lisa raises her hand. Lisa does not however speak Spanish. 1979 - Lisa is assigned the shadow and pretends to speak Spanish to the child who actually does speak Spanish. No one knows why. Earlier this same year, her younger brother Scott was born. This might be why. 1980 – Lisa’s family moves to Phoenix, Arizona. Her mother explains that the family moved from LA because her allergies were constantly aggravating her. Lisa comes to realize that ‘allergies’ is actually code for ‘mother in law’. 1981 – Lisa enters Mrs. Langham’s 2nd grade at Madison Heights Elementary School. This same year, a drunk driver tragically kills Lisa’s father. Under the love and guidance of Mrs. Langham, Lisa learns to express herself through writing. Lisa spends the next year writing story, after story, after story. 1984 – Lisa’s mom (also her hero) remarries a wonderful, wonderful man whom over the years becomes an incredible father to her and her brother and sisters. 1985 – Lisa enters a Father’s Day writing contest at Sears. She places second, losing first place due to “poor presentation” which her mother explained to her meant “messy handwriting and food court French fry grease finger prints on the edges of the paper. 1986 – Lisa enters high school 1990 – Lisa graduates high school with no academic honors but is voted best hair, best dressed and biggest partier by her peers. 1992 – Lisa enters Arizona State University (notice the two year gap). Finds beer far more satisfying than academics. 1994- Lisa becomes an intern in the most obvious of places: the re-election campaign for the conservative republican governor of Arizona. Lisa catches the political bug. This is good news considering what’s possible for a single girl to catch. 1995 – 1999 Lisa sets out on a political campaign career concentrating on press and crisis communications. She goes on to work for: Republican Nominee for President of the United States Bob Dole, New Jersey Governor Christie Todd Whitman, California Congressman Darrell Issa, Iowa Congressman Jim Lightfoot, The Republican Party of Florida. 1999 – While living in Tallahassee, Florida Lisa decides that anything is better than this hellhole. That’s why she has no problem accepting a job interview with Former Executive Director of The Christian Director Ralph Reed. Lisa flies to Atlanta to interview with Ralph and accepts the position as strategic communications director for his grassroots political consulting firm, Century Strategies (Cen Strat). 1999-2004 - Lisa works with Ralph and the talented and eccentric team that make up the Cen Strat team. Lisa thinks, “what if people knew what actually went on behind the scenes of a conservative leaders inner sanctum…you couldn’t make shit like this up even if you tried.” 2005 - Ralph runs to become the Republican nominee for Lt. Governor of Georgia. Lisa signs on as campaign communications director. 2005-– Ralph becomes central figure in the nation’s largest lobbying scandal in recent United States history. 2006 – Lisa moonlights as a weekly columnist for Atlanta weekly The Sunday Paper. She makes a decision to pen a column about her vagina. Christian activists once her bff’s are now her mortal enemies. Lisa continues on as Reed spokesperson and media punching bag. Ralph loses the election (but not because Lisa continues on, please see aforementioned largest lobbying scandal in recent U.S. history). 2007-2010 – Lisa writes and sells her political memoir Life of The Party: A Political Press Tart Bares All.
