Put That On a Sticky Note!

I’m looking for a slogan. A mantra. Some pithy catch phrase I can chant in the mirror each morning before I slog off to work.

There are lots of good ones out there. But unless I want to share my personal motto with a pair of sleek sneakers, or a fast food version of “Dinner’s ready! Now! Just the way you want it!” then I’ll have to dig deep (wait…is that a pithy catch?) and figure out what words sum me up.

I’m a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a granddaughter.

I’m also a writer, a reader, and an educator.

I want to make tons of money. That’s not greed, that’s ambition.

I want a house that’s not underwater.  At the moment, that makes me a dreamer.

I want to watch my daughter grow up to be a happy, educated, beautiful woman. I call that love.

I want the World’s hurt to disappear. That’s compassion. Or I could file that under the dreamer category, along with affordable home owership. You decide.

I could go on, but on my way to pithy I seem to have hit the edge of verbose, and I'd rather not have my catch phrase be "sum it up."

So, after reading my list I’m thinking my slogan is a combination of a Vulcan salute, a trader’s hand signal at the NYSE, and the 1960s V sign for peace.

If that’s the case, my not-so-pithy catch phrase is the body language verbalization of “Live long, prosper, short sale (sell! sell! sell!), and be peaceful.”

Is that too long to write on a sticky note for my bathroom mirror?
