hello bathing suit
By Kittyboy, Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 2 commentsMy last blog post was entitled “bye bye bathing suit” and here is a quote from it: “I have now totally abandoned the swimsuit search …”
Two days after making that statement I purchased a new bikini.
But, you see, I really had abandoned looking for a swimsuit. Finding one that flattered me (as much as a couple of postage stamps held together with string can flatter) was pure chance.
Yesterday during lunch I made a quick trip to Walmart to pick up some office supplies. On my way to the cash register a rack of Norma Kamali swimwear caught my eye.
Back in high school I owned a Norma Kamali skirt that I loved. It was black stretch with a big zipper going up the back (so 80s!), and I wore it all the time.
I hadn’t come across that brand in a while so I had no idea Norma Kamali now makes a discounted line for Walmart.
Anyway, the swimsuit is great because the bottom is cut low and it has this hybrid skirt/ruffle that doesn’t look matronly. I bought a black bottom with a black and white striped top. But just now when I went to Walmart.com to link in photos I noticed that other patterns were on sale, so I just ordered two different patterns in this same style. (I couldn’t resist. When you find something that works you gotta stock up.)
The bottoms cover without looking like I’m trying to cover. Of course, my thighs are still exposed but there’s only so much I can expect.

No, of course, this isn't me. It's a model from Walmart.com where this suit is sold. If this were me I would be running around in a thong and pasties.
