About Me

Kids: No kids

Name: Jody Lamb

Occupation: Writer, marketing manager

Favorite Music: The Rolling Stones

Favorite Books and Writers: My favorite author of all time is Julia Sauer. Her book, “Fog Magic" taught me to look for something extra in the ordinary and inspired me to be a writer. My favorite picture books are “Are You My Mother?” and all but one of the “The Berenstain Bears” on account of a scary bird with mean eyes who gave me nightmares. Today, I'm still drawn to middle-grade and YA fiction and admire dozens of authors.

Words I live by: To the world, you may be one person. To one person, you may be the world. - Unknown
Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do. - R. Jackson Brown Jr.

I can't live without: Family. Friends. Ear-to-ear smiles. Insides-twisting laughter. Books. Ugly dogs. Peppermint ice cream. A notebook and pen.

I am most proud of: My little sister who inspires me daily.

I am most guilty of: People watching.

The world would be a better place, if only: People remembered this: "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - Aesop

Interests: As a quiet kid, I wrote stories inspired by the creativity and imagination exhibited by my favorite middle-grade and YA authors. A few years ago, I dug out that determined young writer spirit. Returning to these roots has been a challenging but wonderful gem in my life. My little sister says I haven’t yet become a boring adult (and I smile). I’m so grateful for the opportunity to hangout in the kid world from time to time; it’s a real reminder of coming-of-age joys, struggles and often more complex worries than we recall as adults. I’m inspired by tweeny kids. That’s why I’m writing stories and non-fiction articles for children and young adults. Most recently, I completed a manuscript for a middle-grade (tween) novel. Cross your fingers. High five!

About Me: I write stories for people young in age or heart. I love peppermint ice cream, ugly dogs and slow-to-fade, ear-to-ear smiles. During the sunshine hours, I’m a marketing manager for a company that makes lots of cool products that are sold all over the world. When the moon’s bright in the sky, I’m surrounded by books and an overworked MacBook. I love it! If you asked my little sister, she’d say I’m not a boring adult (man, do I smile!). There’s the occasional spoiling of dinner with root beer floats and braving of rollercoasters. I’m known to make up goofy dances, watch Saturday morning cartoons and get a kick out of those knock-knock jokes told by your grandpa a million times. Other random stuff: I have blonde/orange-ish hair that explodes into a lion’s mane in humid weather or rain. When I’m sleep deprived for several days, my right eyelid droops. My little sister inspires me.
