More about Me: In the last year I've quit smoking, quit taking antidepressants, passed the 1-year anniversary of my divorce, found love/acceptance/support, and developed a voice. I've also, begrudgingly, started exercising and eating right. It's crazy what love makes you think about...like longevity.
Favorite Music: I'm partial to mainstream rock. My first concert was Styx/Mr. Roboto tour.
Favorite Books and Writers: Anything by Elizabeth Gilbert, Sue Monk Kidd, Jodi Picoult, Barbara Kingsolver, and Anna Quindlen (these are all women I'm both supremely jealous of and supremely impressed by)
I can't live without: My laptop, collection of jackets, Diet Mt. Dew, a yard, sun, friends.
I am most proud of: Completing the emotional work necessary to decide to radically change my life. I was scared nearly-comatose, stuck between the unhappy I knew and the freedom I wanted, but was afraid of. I wrote a couple of books. I got out on my own and have made a life for me and my children. I have found love. I made it.
I am most guilty of: Continuing to carry around resentment. Gossiping.
Words I live by: Be Thankful. Look for life lessons in the Everyday. Reach out, look in.
The world would be a better place, if only: If only people would stop judging others. I don't understand why hordes of people jump on bandwagons of hate. I don't understand how someone's decision to marry/un-marry, love someone, or obtain information about health and wellness can be such a cause for uproar.
Interests: In my previous life, I was a middle-school English teacher. Then I became a mother, which led me into volunteering for the sport of lacrosse. I do that a LOT. My divorce inspired me to go back to the thing I'd been doing since I was 8 -- writing. I love gardening and motorcycling. I love watching my kids play lacrosse and dance. I also love kicking back with a glass of wine or a cold beer and hearing people tell stories about their lives.

About Me: I'm a recently divorced mother of three children who live with me half the time.
