Notes from the Mid-East
By Jessica.M, Thursday, September 30, 2010In no particular order, here are some things I've been thinking this morning.
I would much rather hang out on the couch than figure out how to get the bus to the Dead Sea. Perhaps we will go to a movie instead.
I have lost mondo weight since leaving in January. I feel like I dropped a kilo since yesterday, it must have been all of the stairs at Jerash.
Couchsurfing is really mega-cool. I love our hosts in Amman. I wonder if they'll let us stay forever.
TJ is looking really hot now-a-days. He has also lost weight and he's started working out.
I can't believe I spent 230JD yesterday buying plane tickets. There goes a week of budget. I sure hope Lebanon is cool. I hear it is, but I don't know much about it since I wasn't planning to visit.
Is it selfish to hope for peace in the middle east because it's crimping my travel plans? I sure hope the peace talks go well. I would like to go to Syria. I really hope no one says anything stupid (ahem, Biden).
TJ sure can be a stick in the mud, he totally pooh-poohed the idea of bribing the border guards to get our visas.
I'm going to miss my brother's wedding. I'm feeling pretty ambivalent about this.
I sure am hungry. Falafel is manna from heaven. I could eat it everyday. I wish there were a falafel stand down the street instead of an egg sandwich stand. Maybe I'll go to the supermarket (there are supermarkets here!!!!) and get a snack. Oranges are delicious.
Jordan is much nicer than Egypt.
