More about Me: I was born and raised locally, with no pedigree and minimal education. My saving grace being that I work hard, am eager to learn and, thankfully, learn quickly. Because I love dogs, I would compare my demeanor to that of a Golden Labrador/German Shepherd mix. I'm quirky, cute, very loving, get along with just about everyone, but I'm protective and can be vicious when provoked. I enjoy opinion (so long as people are civil, no yelling please) and varying perspective. I want to know how people think and why we do what we do... It's fascinating to me. Now that I'm thirty-(non ya!), it's time to branch out with something new that's a little bit scary... So I've decided to share my thoughts with Atlanta. Dear God, help us...
Favorite Music: I love music... Most all music. Currently, my choice of delight has been the golden rock of the late 70's and early 80's; Hall & Oats, Doobie Brothers, Steve Miller Band, The Band, Van Morrison (he's a god!), John Denver, The BeeGees, Paul Simon (LOVE!), Elton John, CCR, The Eagles, Toto (A-MAZ-ING).
Favorite Books and Writers: Mary Roach, Hollis Gillespie, Anthony Bourdain, Anne Rice (getting back into fiction after a long hiatus), John Berendt
I can't live without: My son, hubby and BFF. Laughter. High heels... the higher the heel, the closer to God! Dogs. Tacos. Lipstick and mascara. Beaches. Lint rollers... goes hand-in-hand with the dogs (love 'em). Pandora music... it's always playing and so easy to change stations when my mind (or my mood) changes. Kindness. Running water and electricity (perhaps that should go before high heels).
I am most proud of: My son. He, thankfully, got all of my good bits. My ability to start over and my 'want to' to understand. I may not agree but I will gain perspective by listening to others and, therefore, grow. I really like growth.
I am most guilty of: Forgetting that I'm really cool... Why don't we find ourselves cool?! In each shape, with each thought, even in our mistakes, we're worth so much more than we think we are.
Words I live by: Shit or get off the pot!
The world would be a better place, if only: People agreed to disagree. We were made individuals, therefore we're allowed to think individually. We don't have to fit in the box people create for us.
