On the wings of love ...
By Iwrite06, Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 2 commentsFirst of all - that's the cheesiest title possible for an already cheesy show ... you know what I'm talking about ... this season's The Bachelor.
Ugh, gag me.
!!!!!Spoiler alert!!!!! Stop reading if you don't want to know what happened on last night's episode.
Anyway, on last night's show, Ali and Jake had a great date and he asked her mom for her blessing, if he decided to propose to Ali.
Well mom said yes.
Ali laid all her cards on the table at the end of the date and it was all very touching and sweet, especially considering I haven't liked her that much these past few weeks.
But toward the end of the show she came to him a mess of tears because she was faced with the unfortunate decision of having to pick the job she loves or the man she's fallen in love with.
Jake did nothing to help her decision.
"Whatever you decide, I'll support," he said.
Gee thanks asswipe - she's crying on your couch, DEVASTATED at the decision she faces and that's the best you've got.
"What do you want me to do?" he proceeded to say.
At that line I would have taken one look at his weasely face and walked out of his room.
If you don't know what to say to a woman at a time like this, a woman who has already put her life on hold (stupidly) to find "True love" with you, then you deserve to be single ... or to end up with a stupid daddy's girl like Vienna. I mean come on.
When Ali left his hotel room she collapsed in the hallway in tears. It made me teary-eyed.
She showed up at the rose ceremony practically begging Jake to help her with this decision, but he was so indifferent and kept putting the blame on her shoulders that I wanted to smack the fucker.
"I talked to my mom and I asked, if I leave my job and stay, and then walk away with absolutely nothing, is that OK?" Ali told Jake. "And mom said, 'Of course it's Ok."
But if I'd been her mom, I'd have said absolutely not. Make the decision that's not going to leave you feeling empty and alone at the end of the day. In this economy you shouldn't leave a job, and you especially shouldn't leave one for a MAN ... or anyone for that matter .... and you should never EVER make any drastic decisions for a man who can't tell you how he truly feels about you ... I doubt there's anything in the damn bachelor contract that says "act like an emotional fucktard and leave every woman completely clueless."The whole point is to fall in "love," not be an evasive fuck. If you wanted that, you should have just kept dating on your own instead of making those women, and us viewers, suffer.
I really should stop watching this show.
But I was thrilled at the end of the show when Ali decided to pick the job over Jake. Speaking as someone who has lost a guy and a job only to be left with nothing .... it really fucking sucks and it takes a LONG time to regain all the things you've lost.
I still haven't regained my balance since falling off of Cloud 9 TWO YEARS AGO. TWO fucking years and I'm just as confused as I was when things first went to shit. It sucks, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I'm glad that Ali had the brains to bow out .... I just hope she meant it.
They show a clip for next week where she calls him while they're on their special over night dates in St. Lucia and I hope it's just to say, "Good luck, I definitely made the right decision, thanks for being a spineless douchebag."
That'd be great.
I personally have learned over the years if a guy can't tell you how he feels without putting the burden of it all on you ... he's not worth it and you should run, not walk, away.
