More about Me: I'm a 27-year-old journalist and artist. I have a degree in journalism, and am currently working as a full-time staff writer for a community newspaper on the east coast, while also trying to make time for art and creative writing on the side. My other passion is running ... my goal is to run a full marathon in 2012. I also love to travel, but because of the lack of funds currently in my bank account I don't do it nearly enough. I love tattoos but I'm waiting to reach a milestone in my life before getting a new one. I love life, love work and I love to work hard and stay busy. I'm unbelievably excited for the future and the good things to come.
Favorite Music: U2, Travis, Rilo Kiley, Feist, Jimmy Eat World, Beck, Finch ... pretty eclectic really ... just depends on the day.
Favorite Books and Writers: Jane Austen, Sophie Kinsella, A Spot of Bother and The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nightime by Mark Haddon, Dan Savage, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, The Time Traveler's Wife, Marcello and the Real World, Harry Potter series, Twilight series, End of the Alphabet ... I loooove books.
I can't live without: books, newspapers (online or otherwise), pen, paper, my cell phone and my laptop (sad, but true.)
I am most proud of: following my own path in life. During high school and college my family questioned every decision I made regarding my major, my relationships, everything ... but despite their concerns I've stuck to my guns and followed my own dreams and done things my way, and I'm so glad I have.
I am most guilty of: wanting to spend money when I haven't a cent to spare.

The world would be a better place, if only: People would accept each others' differences. You don't have to agree, but you have to be open to agree to disagree and educate yourself outside your comfort zones.
Interests: I love to write, run, paint, draw, kayak, hike, take walks with my dog, have wine at the wine bar, travel and read. I love politics and love to argue them with other educated individuals. I wholeheartedly believe that we can all have varying opinions as long as we can have civil, educated discussions about them. I'd love to be a published author. I love to take every opportunity offered to me and so in some respects live life like a gypsy, trying to go where the wind blows me. I'm finally at a place in my life where my hobbies, passions and dreams are all coming together it's beyond exciting!
