Winds of Change and a Big Announcement
By hnagel, Thursday, January 20, 2011, 21 commentsThe frosty winds of winter and change have been blowing through the skirt! nation this month. Cabin fever has set-in with may in lock-down, but so has a burst of creative writings and exciting new opportunities.

It's official, Lynn Lamousin (aka Kittyboy) is our skirt!setter of the year! Honorable mention goes to runner up - Tonilyn. Thanks to everyone that cast a vote and to all of our skirt!setters for making 2010 an amazing year!

skirt! Classes
We will be announcing very shortly a selection of skirt! workshop classes! These are small, online workshops with blogging rock-stars, authors, artists and creative coaches. Class size is limited so stay tuned!
skirt! Conference
Details are being locked down for the first skirt! creative conference in Atlanta in May! We are very excited and have some wonderful things planned for this first-ever gathering of the skirt! nation. It will be a creative sensation!
The break-up of the band
Last and certainly not least, I’m very sad to tell you about the departure of our national web editor Stephanie Davis-Smith. (aka skirtysteph) Just over a year ago, Stephanie re-joined skirt! to tackle the new position of national web editor. She made this position her own and brilliantly grew our editorial efforts. I am so thankful for the time that she spent with us and for her wonderful contributions that have helped shape this site and skirt!. There are extraordinary horizons for Stephanie (she'll be blogging about them soon) and I’m grateful we were able to be a part of her professional journey. She will be missed! Please join me as we wish her all the best. (Yes, we've been telling her that she's breakin' up the band!)
A message from Stephanie:
"My time at skirt! has been outstanding and I am delighted to be leaving the site in such great shape and knowing they have exciting undertakings on the horizon. On a personal note to all the skirt!setters, I have been a skirt! girl since before I even knew that’s what they called women like us. I think the skirt! message and camaraderie is one of the most special and important out there. I love this online community, all the women here and your powerful voices. I will be checking back in regularly to get my fix!" -Stephanie
So the search is on! Yes indeed, we are in search of a national web editor among other exciting new things. This is a fine position, as Stephanie will tell you! We’re searching for someone that can not only write, but can also embrace and grow our community. Someone with a keen eye for building Web content. Someone who loves skirt! We also are growing our sales efforts and have a national sales opening and contract sales positions.
Check it out! For the official job descriptions, click here.
As always, if you have any thoughts, questions or suggestions, please let us know! We love to hear from the skirt! community.
Peace, love and skirt!

Noooooooooooo! Stephanie is leaving?! Oh, I'm so sad -- She has been a mama hen to us bloggers (and I say this even though I'm 10 years her senior). Her nurturing and the example she set regarding the quality of blogging that we should aspire to has been key for me over the last year.
But, on an up note, I'm very excited about the conference in Atlanta in May. Let me know if I can help coordinate the event in any way as I'll be local during that timeframe.
Sounds good Lynn
Thanks for the offer Lynn, we'd love to have you involved!
