Girls’ Weekend
By GinaV, Friday, February 27, 2009, 5 commentsWe had preliminary emails. Exchanged money for our deposits on the condo. We had a planning meeting at the local Mexican eatery with typed agenda and all. We had follow up emails with minutes from our meeting. Two buses (SUVs) pull out for pick ups at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning (after we get the kids on the bus, of course.) The two crews will meet at the coffee shop for our morning joe and hit the road.
Yah-hoooo!
Ten busy, dedicated wives and mothers are heading north for a girls’ weekend. We look forward to getting to know one another outside of the hallways of our children’s school. We will downhill ski and indulge at the spa. We will relax, eat, talk, sleep, enjoy. There’s sure to be lots of storytelling and laughs.
There will be no diaper changing, no getting up at wee hours to take potty training toddlers to the bathroom, no laundry folding, no filling backpacks with school necessities, no searching for lost mittens or boots, no hurrying of slow pokes out to the bus stop.
We have already spent endless hours of preparation for our three days absence from our families. We’ve done our grocery shopping, cooked meals and desserts, planned meals to make at the condo, caught up the laundry, cleaned the house, packed several bags.
Sure, we’ll miss our husbands and beloved children, but boy, oh boy, will we enjoy our weekend with the girls!
To be continued…

You know what that sounds like bliss! I'm planning a girls overnight in May - we are going to an Abba Tribute band - a few want to dress up (not so sure about that!@!).
Let you hair down, enjoy - and then come back and make us all jealous with loads of details of how wicked a time you are sure to have.
