Note to Kim

Sweet Kim,

There is nothing that I can say today that will ease your grief. I know you feel that, when your sister's life was taken a year ago today, your own ended. You surely know by now that you are surrounded by an entire community of family and friends who would give anything to restore your joy. We're not the One who can do that... and I know you love the One who can. In His time... and yours... we are patient, too, and don't mean to rush you toward a place you cannot yet envision. Right now, there is only blackness where she was light. But, on this day that reminds you of an unspeakable moment, I want you to know that she is absolutely and wholly Light. Everything that she ever was, she is in this very moment. And so, so, SO incredibly much more - that we can't even begin to grasp! In any case, I want you to know that I understand your pain - you know my family has had some of our own. And, just as you wished you could remove mine, I want joy restored to you. That is my prayer today and every day.
