About Me: I've never lived more than 35 miles from my birthplace, Jacksonville. Some people may find that boring but I like the feeling of being deeply rooted; I love Florida. I have a husband, a baby girl who recently turned 1, and two stepsons, 7 and 9. At one time I was on the path to become a crazy cat lady but got married and then pregnant, so my parents took custody of the cats. While they foster 3 of them, I did get one back. I love the little things in life...good music, good food, good hair days, getting multiple green lights in a row, receiving packages in the mail, great greeting cards from my hubby, awesome bargains and the smell of coffee. I have a BS in Communications and enjoyed freelance writing for awhile after college. Since 2003 I have worked for a nonprofit that helps at-risk girls achieve their goals through counseling and education.
