Have you ever seen a bipolar bear before?

I did this weekend at Sketchworks comedy in Atlanta and it was hysterical.

His dream was just to be part of the Disney Country Bear Jamboree, he even had his ears done, cause a bears gotta do what a bears gotta do, ya know?

Although it's not for the faint of heart, or those easily offended, I would highly reccomend it to anyone. I am in my twenties and very liberal and I went with my mother who is (ahem) not in her twenties and is pretty conservative and we both almost peed our pants.

From getting vag-dazzled (or for those ladies who don't like to shave, a diamond in the rough) to spoofs on stuck-up over botoxed ladies and the funniest "re-made" songs, the sketches were Saturday Night Live worthy but in a warm and welcoming enviroment where everyone seemed to know each other.

It was refreshingly unpretentious and they serve wine and beer that you can drink during the show or in the lobby that I am still coveting because it is so cute I want to make it my living room.

Completly unpolitically correct and very dirty, it was true underground comedy at its best. Written, directed and acted by people all local, the theater was sold out, and for good reason. The actors are awesome and have a lot of experience, especially considering the super-reasonable ticket prices for the shows. A season pass for every show is only $55. Yeah, like the price of about half a play at the Fox and these are real actors, not your typical community theater cast of bored housewives and seven-year-olds.

Although the "Sketchwors Super Solid Gold Mega-Hits" show that I saw has closed, they have another one coming up that will play from May 21st-June 19th called "Sketch is in the Air." So, mark it in your calenders ladies, if you have someone coming into town and need a place to take them this should be it! It will give you some definite points for knowing such a cool place or, if nothing else, some jokes you can re-purpose as your own later so people think you're funny.

Check out some of their videos here http://www.youtube.com/user/sketchworks to get a little taste of what I am talking about or just cruise over to their website for some more info on the next show and all the directions and what nots here http://www.sketchworkscomedy.com/.

I love comedy shows

I will have to go see one of their shows next time I am in town visiting my sister. We have looked up things to do in ATL before, we always like to find something to do while I'm there, but I have never come across the Sketchworks show. Thanks for the tip!
