. . . I mean I can't even remember the 90's (maybe there's a clue in that) . . . lets see, I was in my 20's at the start of the 90's working in the Kings Road Chelsea in an Advertising agency ~ it was a wild time before the start of the big crash recession . . .young, free and single - enjoying the party!
. . . But what to wear . . . the dresses, oh the dresses were short - knee high sock & high heels (mmm . . . lady of the night comes to mind) and amazingly enough I can fit in to some of the clothes I had back then - but when I did a massive 'try on' with my daughter yesterday - I put on one outfit and she thought I looked like "I was selling something" - and I don't mean cookies!!!
. . . My husband walked in on the 'fancy dress show' and said he'd not let me out of the house wearing 'any of THOSE items' ~ what WAS I thinking? I did manage to sneak away a pair of knee high sparkly hot pink socks (my daughters by the way - not originals!) and a little, very short black dress. But also a back up of 'boyfriend jeans, calvin klien boxers - to show my pants - hoodie, baseball cap & going to steal some fake 'bling' from the PR cupboard . . . if I don't feel brave enough.
. . . the word is out that we've got "Super Mario" coming, Princess Diana, "Reservoir Dogs", Spice Girls (did you get the spice girls in the US?), lots of high top trainers & tye dye ‘rave’ tshirts . . . I’l try and take some pics so you can all have a laugh.
. . . so think of me – all dressed up (which option still to choose from) on the Roof Gardens (lets hope it doesn’t rain) partying to the 90’s . . . remind me again – what happened in the 90’s – suggestions welcome!

That black dress and add some torn stockings such as the rocker chicks wore, surely your husband and daughter won't mind at all...

Sounds like a fab time Em! Wow - yeah, 90's I don't quite remember them that well either - at least not the fashion. And yes - we did get the Spice Girls - you know that Posh and Becks are practically my neighbors now (well not really, but I do know a few moms who have spotted them at their kid's soccer games - and let me tell you...the cell phones are whipped out at lightening speed when that happens!) Have a great time at your party - and yes, please DO take plenty of pictures. And I say go for the dress! If you can still fit in it you've totally earned it!

Pl aid flannel - the whole Seattle/grunge thing was going strong! Doc Martens with sundresses. Colorblock shirts. Maybe watch a few old episodes of Beverly Hills 90210 for inspiration? Sounds like such a fun time!

WOW! The 90s seem so irrelevant... Now, the 80s; That was a decade! My Favorite!!!! I think you must wear a short mini ...perhaps some shoulder pads ...Was the hair still BIG then? I want every detail later :) XX

...I spent the entire decade in Maternity or elastic soooo...no help here! Sure we got the Spice Girls -- we made them superstars and then mocked the sh*t out of them! Did you get "Friends" -- what were Rachel and Monica and Phoebe wearing???? Have fun!
