By the early girl, Monday, May 23, 2011So, I have lots to talk about and will share what’s been happening later in the week but for today I wanted to re-print (with permission) a gem I found in Dash’s backpack.
Last week his kindergarten class put on a pageant for Mother’s Day and let me just say that watching my son perform songs, skits and “I love you” in sign language was the reason I got into the whole mothering industry to begin with. The definition of sublime is: a greatness beyond all possibility of calculation, measurement or imitation. I can’t think of a better word to describe the event.
Then, when we got home, I went through his homework folder, found a cookbook that the teacher had put together of the kid's favorite recipes and the day just got better.
Here now are Dash’s two entries:
CHEDDAR CHEESE QUESADILLAS
1 square of cheddar cheese
1 bag of tortillas
10 pieces of salt
1. You have to cut the tortilla and cut the cheese into flat.
2. Open the tortilla and you have to put salt and the cheese in it and close it.
3. Put it on the pan and turn the oven on.
4. Cook it for 60 seconds. You know it's done when it feels hot.
5. Touch it when it feels hot and let it cool for 10 seconds and then eat it.
BOWL OF WHIPPED CREAM
Buy whipped cream anywhere
1 bowl
1. Get the bowl.
2. Spray the whipped cream in it.
3. A good serving is 90 sprays of cream.
Bon Appetit, everyone!
