Burt Reynolds Institute Offers $1.00 Seminar for Actors

“ACTORS’ NEW DIRECTIONS”

Saturday, September 17, 2011 – 1 pm to 4 pm

Kelly Dennehy, Executive Director of the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT), announced the addition of a special half-day seminar entitled ACTORS’ NEW DIRECTIONS to the fall schedule. This three hour class, taught by the highly accredited writer/director Frank Eberling, offers actors alternatives for furthering their careers. Eberling has worked on over 100 S.A.G. productions.  The thrust of the seminar is to encourage actors to take charge of their careers by producing their own films.

Eberling stated that he has two “How-To” objectives in teaching this course: the first is how to change your life in three hours, and the second is how to appear in a starring role in a feature film within one year. If actors follow what they learn in this seminar, they may do just that.

Among the topics to be covered are:

   How paradigm shifts in film production and distribution are changing the ways Hollywood does business, and what this means to you as an actor living in Florida.

   Why Florida is different for actors than New York and Hollywood, and what it means to your future career.

   Why traditional methods of seeking acting employment may not work for you in South Florida.

   What other actors are already doing and how you can do it too.

   Step-by-step directions on how to make it happen.

   Case Studies on a national and Florida level.

   What you have to do to get started today.

Limiting seating requires that early reservations be made by calling the Burt Reynolds Institute @ 561 743-9955 or contacting info@brift.org. Only the first 50 registrants will be accepted. Additional classes will be added as needed, 5pm-8pm.

SPECIAL OFFER:  Any current BRIFT student who brings in two new students at the $1 ticket rate will be entitled to free admission.  Encourage all of your acting friends to attend this potentially life-changing seminar.
