Thank You MLK
By dburke, Monday, January 16, 2012In honor of MLK day, I just want to give a shout out not only to him, but to all those people, black and white, who helped to put an end to segregation and racism. And although it's not completely gone from the world, it is certainly not the way just 50 years ago, during MLK's time. It is truly the dedication, perservance and triumph of those who came before us that helped to shape the world that we live in today. They are the reason I can go where I want without being told I'm not allowed, I can sit where I want on a bus, I can attend any school I chose (as long as I get in, of course), and countless other rights and priviledges I am able to enjoy each and every day. Thank you all for the sacrifices you made so that I could have a better life.
Happy MLK day!!
