Getting back into the Groove

The first week back to work has been crazy busy.  I mean, I knew it would be, being away from a University for almost a week and a half, the emails, transcripts and applications were bound to pile up, but it seems like there’s a lot more work for me than I had last year.  Of course that could be because last year I was still part-time and not doing the same amount and type of work I’m doing not, so I didn’t have as much on my plate.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining as I’d always rather be busy than bored, it’s just I feel a little swamped right now.  I hope to be a bit more caught up tomorrow, and with any luck, back on schedule by Monday, well maybe Tuesday.  But even as busy as I am, I am also grateful that I have steady job with no fear that I will be laid off anytime soon.  I know times are hard right now in this economy, so I’m grateful that I don’t have to worry about where or when I’ll get my next paycheck.  And even though this isn’t my ideal career, I actually enjoy it (most of the time, and I’d probably enjoy it more if they paid me more money), and if I ever moved somewhere else and needed a job (since I’m not at the point yet where I can write for a living), I know that I would be highly qualified to work in higher education.  All in all though, I am glad tomorrow’s Friday cause I am so ready for the weekend!
