More about Me: I've recently finished my first novel and am in the humbling process of trying to find an agent. Any tips, encouragement or publishing jokes are welcome! I'm a HUGE Sci Fi geek. Star Wars, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica and more. I'm starting to attend Cons and can be found hanging out as DawnAZ on Galactic Watercooler. I have two dogs and cats and am basically covered in pet hair 24/7. My sons are teenagers now, so I need a lot of prayers and sympathy.
Favorite Music: I'm a crazy mix of everything- Green Day, MCR, Dixie Chicks, Black-Eyed Peas, Sting, Annie Lennox, Sara Groves, Hawk Nelson, showtunes and The David Crowder Band.
Favorite Books and Writers: Jane Austen- always, all the time (except for MANSFIELD PARK), all things Jane Green, Claire Cook, Elizabeth Peters and Jennifer Weiner. I'm a Faulkner gal, not a Hemingway one.
I am most proud of: Having two great sons, an almost 20 year marriage and finishing my first novel.
I am most guilty of: Watching meaningless TV as a relaxation method. I can't stay away from from Bravo's Real Housewives series. It's a real character flaw.
The world would be a better place, if only: We didn't feel like we had to pretend we have it all together all the time.
Words I live by: Be present. Be where you are while you're there. If your at your child's sports event, scream like a banshee. If you're working on your novel, don't worry about the laundry. If you're with your husband or partner, don't think about your child's sporting event, your novel or the laundry.
Interests: Books, books and more books! I love historical fiction most of all but, strangely enough, I don't write it. I am a HUGE Science Fiction geek- Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and Firefly. I also love to cook. I had the pleasure of seeing Emeril here in Arizona last year and he was amazing. I scrapbook whenever I can and love that my husband and sons look at the albums all the time. I've been known to watch too many reality shows (Survivor, Idol, anything snarky on E!) and I DVR The View everyday.

About Me: I write fiction and blog from my home in Scottsdale, Arizona. By day I work as a Para-Educator for a Special Needs student. That keeps me busy enough to always provide an excuse for being behind with the housework. I'm currently finishing up my first novel and will soon begin the process of finding an agent and publisher. In my spare time I read, scrapbook, play Apples-to-Apples with my family and vacuum up pet hair.
