Feather Your Nest

There’s something about the shape of this leaf bowl that makes me want to reach out and cup it in my hands. It’s made by Maria Belen de la Cruz, a recipient of a Nest loan in Mexico. Nest is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the lives of women in developing countries. They support women artists and artisans by provding micro-credit loans to be used for the purchase of the supplies and materials necessary to begin and/or maintain art or craft-based businesses. The leaf bowl ($40.00) was fired in lead-free kilns that Nest helped Maria purchase. Help support the work of Nest by shopping at their online store.
