My writing teacher got me hooked on the red and black notebooks from Pearl River in NYC. I have a stack of blank ones in case they stop making them, and I have to confess that even though I'm a pitiful journal keeper, I love the way the look lined up on my desk. I also keep packs of different-sized joss papers from Pearl to wrap small gifts in or to use in my not-so-talented collages. If you go to New York, don’t miss a visit to Pearl River at 477 Broadway...it’s amazing.
