Win a Snack Bag by Solving our Skirt! Squabble
By Skirt.com, Tuesday, May 25, 2010, 15 commentsCongratulations to AdmiralAnnieT, FloydK3016, The Prozac Queen, Sara Dutilly and RachelLB who won their own personalized trail mix!

We at skirt! needed you to break a tie for us. There are some of us skirty staffers (ahem!) that think this is an incredible idea. Others who are ho hum about the whole thing. Leave a comment—about whether you're pro-personalized snack bag (some of us HATE coconut and raisins in our mix) or happy just picking up your trail mix at the store pre-made—and you could win one of five bags to try for yourself.
We wanted to hear what you think!
At Mymixednuts.com you can choose from over 70 different nuts, seeds, dried fruits and goodies to choose from to create tons of unique mixes. They have custom organic, vegan and raw options. You can personalize each one with an original name you choose that gets printed on the package.
You left your best argument (pro or con) in the comment section below and it looks like pro-personalized snack bag won!

Mixed Nuts Variety
Yes, I believe that I would enjoy the chance to decide what goes in the snack bag. Sometimes, certain items have a tendency to flavor the other items in the bag ~ OR ~ certain nuts will go ransid before others and make everything else taste just awful. And, there are times when I would like more almonds, or more choco-covered items, or more dried cherries, etc. That being said, I will take whatever I get!

While working out of town for the week, I stayed at hotel with a bar downstairs.... of course after a long day's work I'd partake of a refreshing beverage. The bartender would always give me a small bowl of snack mix. As I sat there and ate the peanuts, almonds, and cashews, I pulled to the side of the bowl the less appealing white chocolate pieces and raisins... the next evening I did the same thing--- picked out the pieces I didn't want! The bartender remembered me hence forward and the rest of the week when I came to sit he joked he tried to pour as few raisins and white chocolate pieces as he could!
thumbs-up
I like the idea of being able to mix your own snack bag...makes for a lot less waste of the things you don't like. What I don't like, someone else probably does, so it makes sense for a person to be able to mix their own bag so that everyone can get what they want. I'm not sure if this way would be any more expensive than the usual packages, but at least you would get more value for your money.
Oh snap! So far 3 pro-pick
Oh snap! So far 3 pro-pick your own. Hmmm...looks like my side is on a roll! (Hee...hee...)
Pro-Picker
I definitely support picking your own snack mix as I can never find quite the combination I'm looking for. The pre-mixed choices seem too specific (like peanut lovers or chocolate cravings) but the regular mixes have raisins and other items I'm not crazy about. I hate the idea of buying a package and then wasting half of it (my dog can't eat the raisins...) Sooo I love the idea of making your own mix! I often try that at our local bulk foods store but the variety at mixednuts.com rocks!
Seriously people...
Seriously people...nuts???? Not that I'm for one side or the other.
Pro
I'll eat almost anything so I'm not very picky. That being said- I do like things done my way, so if given the choice I would like to customize.

I love the idea of pro-personalized trail mix bags. I cannot eat the hard nuts and some of the fruits I don't like either. So to be able to make your own would be the best way to go. I know that when I buy the bag from the store I pick out only what I want and usually throw the rest away unless my grandkids are here and then they will eat what I don't. So I would say creating your own is the best way to go.

How awesome is this !!! Would love nothing more than to be able to mix my own snack/trail mix.
A my house
We have two bags...one for the hubby who loves it all and one for me and all my allergies. I guess that would make our house a split one at least on the pro/con picker question. :)
That was something I was
That was something I was thinking about too...possibility of allergies.
Raisins have no business
Raisins have no business being mixed into anything besides oatmeal, or my mom's pumpkin cookies. I'm all for personalization!
Choosy doesn't equal picky
I definitely like the idea of creating your own mix - it saves picking out the things you like best first and having to either throw out the rest or eat it later when you really don't want it but there's nothing else left!
