Nerd Girl Rant!

So I'm on Facebook and stuff, and I see something interesting. There's more than a handful of people from my past on there who used to call me a nerd for liking Star Trek. And yeah, I'm a nerd (actually I'm more of a geek, but let's not get technical). Anyway, why is it that these same people are now psyched for the release of the new Star Trek movie? WTF?

I'm not aiming this at anyone specific. It's an overall rant. I mean really...remember when it was 'nerdy' to wear cowboy boots, but now it's all the rage? What about hippie clothing? It went from nerdy to 'in' in the span of five years.

Grr.
