Animal Cruelty

My friend recently told me of what happened to her neighbor lady's cat. I am now realizing that the person responsible for killing the old lady's feline may have done it as a mockery. The poor lady had tied her cat to a zip line in her backyard with the purpose of keeping it safe from traffic and sociopathic killers. It appears that the killer clearly saw how worried the old woman was of her cat's safety, and decided to send her the message that pets are not necessarily safe just because you keep them enclosed on your property. He was also likely sending the same message to society of his annoyance by a pet-lover's concern. Either way, it is a significant disappointment that a person cannot safely let his pet outside without worrying about animal cruelty.
