Will Smith—The Fresh Prince
By MerryGlenne, Tuesday, June 30, 2009I'm A Feminist Because...
“…females are human. They are born and raised to appear like flowers just to be confronted by burly, barking trees. Women are underestimated, brooded, mistreated but sturdy, life giving and thoughtful. Thank you strong women for standing up for yourselves because men like me, at times, have been wrong.”
Will is a student at USC Columbia, a used car processor, and the keyboardist in the Papa String Band. He likes to play tennis, plant something new every spring, and write about current events and his hopes and dreams till the wee hours of the morning.
1. Will's mom raised six boys-her four sons, her husband, and her dad. 2. Dr. Akers, Will's 16th and 17th Century Lit Professor, opened his "eyes to how women have a foot on them." 3. Will now realizes he had taken on "Southern Baptist thinking." And it wasn't helping him out in relationships at all.
Serendipity On Schedule
By mich8la, Friday, February 3, 2012I firmly believe that freedom comes from limitation -- that spontaneity exists within an ordered framework. Friends marvel at my feats of calendaring. The first day of a new semester, I'll have the month laid out hour by hour: what I'll be reading at Sunday brunch, when I'll hit the gym and with whom, where I'll take my dance breaks, coffee breaks, dinner breaks. Then I forget to figure in time for cleaning and dressing myself and the schedule has to be revised.
#31 in a Series...Full Circle
By justussayin, Friday, January 27, 2012I've been neglecting my blog lately, but I have a good reason: Kelly and I have a contract for our book! It's been just over a year since we started working on this project and it seems like everything has happened kinda fast.
For a while I wondered if we'd ever a) finish, b) be proud of what we had written and c) interest a publisher. We did hit the doldrums a couple times in the process when it felt like it might be better to scrap the mission altogether.
Eruditio et Religio: Knowledge and Faith...
By Mother_Blogger, Thursday, January 26, 2012For those of you wondering why I disappeared from the blog-o-sphere for a bit... Well, I had some rather important matters to attend to.
You know, stuff like this:
Lost Generation
By ReneeCK, Monday, January 16, 2012, 2 commentsLast Monday was the day. I sat anxiously in a class of students wondering what the semester would bring. It wasn’t the first time I’ve been in this position, but it’s the first time in a long time, and certainly the first time since being a fully declared English major.
This time around it feels real. Important. I’ve had people telling me how natural I am at this. My husband dragged me to a Georgia campus to finish my Michigan degree and is footing the bill. People believe in me. I believe in me.
Step Away from the Sext and No One Gets Hurt
By Nicole Dauenhauer, Sunday, January 15, 2012Last night, Lifetime aired an original film called: Sexting in Suburbia. While Lifetime's serious and sobering take on the digital phenomenon was fictional, the actual fad is all too shamefully real.
habits and fairy dust

Word For the Year: Build
By LeahSenona, Monday, January 2, 2012, 1 comments
I have befriended many marvelous women since becoming a part of the Skirt! community. One of these fantastic females, Dr. Robyn McKay, has a tradition of choosing a word for the year, a word that embodies her desires, goals, and focus for the new year. I tried it out last year, loved it, and decided to continue the practice this year.
