Barbara Morris | Enthusiastic Educator
By Chris Kuhn, Monday, August 15, 2011Fitness has played a significant role in Barbara Morris’s life since she was child. As a young girl, she stayed active on her family’s black angus farm outside Kansas City, Missouri. Once in high school, she found sports a comfortable home and headed to Arkansas State University on both softball and basketball scholarships. In her 30’s, she took part in competitive bodybuilding and even won an American Gladiators competition.
Embracing My Inner Gleek
By Chris.Kuhn, Monday, August 15, 2011I'm a gleek. And not ashamed to admit it either. I’m already mapping out when I can squeeze in a trip to the theater in the next three weeks to catch the live edition of the “Glee” concert movie. I assume I’ll be the only person out there searching for a non-3D showing of the 3D movie since I’m not a fan of the dizzying and headache-inducing technology that does not impress.
Don't Mess with My Sundays
By Chris.Kuhn, Sunday, August 14, 2011I don’t have a lot of requirements in my life. Some people who know me might think I’m high-maintenance because I’m opinionated and usually firm about what I want and when I want it. But the good thing is…I don’t really want a lot. Not really. Not compared to some of my friends who must wear clothes of a particular brand, will only dine on food from a particular place or stay only at a particular hotel on vacation. Me? I’m really not that picky. But there is one thing that I won’t allow someone – anyone – to mess with.
My Sundays.
Of Life and Death and 27
By Chris.Kuhn, Sunday, July 24, 2011, 1 commentsI was getting married at the age of 27. Granted, for a second time, so it took me a couple of times to get it right, but I was so happy in my work and in my life. It seemed like so much lay before me. What were you doing at 27?
Wanted: My Wisdom Back, Please
By Chris.Kuhn, Friday, July 22, 2011So this has been an interesting week. Hell, interesting month. In late June, I learned that I had finally achieved the ultimate - my first ever cavity.
Pretty impressive that it took 41 years, I think.
A Polarizing Case Raises Doubts of All Kinds
By Chris.Kuhn, Monday, July 18, 2011, 1 commentsI’m glad she’s in hiding. I hope she moves far, far away, and assumes a new identity, never to be heard from again. Then all we need is for all of us to move on, people, and that means you too, Ms. Grace. We have to move on, folks.
There I’ve said it.
The Room at the End of the Hall
By Chris.Kuhn, Sunday, July 10, 2011
In that room, I embark on a daily mission to create magic through words.
Sometimes, clients tell me they love them; sometimes, clients tell me to change them.
Sometimes, I’m the only one who thinks these words need to be written at all.
Summer and Smoke...Along the Gumline
By Chris.Kuhn, Sunday, July 3, 2011
I had heard about the sights – sharp, pointy objects being passed back and forth over my sunglasses placed on my head (fortunately). Shiny, metal visions that I couldn’t quite identify but looked remarkably like scissors and soldering irons. And the smoke…I watched puffs of smoke erupt all around me as they drilled and poked, mined and shoved, then drilled some more.
