More about Me: I love to cook too! Sometimes I cook complicated dishes using simple unsophisticated ingredients.
Favorite Music: Prince
Favorite Books and Writers: The Holy Bible, written by the Lord God Almighty; Beloved, written by Toni Morrison; Song of Solomon, written by Toni Morrison; Their Eyes Were Watching God, written by Zora Neale Hurston.
I can't live without: A right relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I daily ask him for guidance, even with help for breathing and staying alive each day.
I am most proud of: My ability to cope with extreme adversity and still not allow it to change my love for life and my desire to treat other people as I want to be treated.
I am most guilty of: Procrastination and indecision
Words I live by: "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him and by his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:5, NIV
The world would be a better place, if only: We thought more of others and were willing to sacrifice daily for the common good of society.
Slogan: Encouraging noble character, protecting human rights and pursuing social justice
About Me: I feel re-born, figuratively, spiritually and literally. I'm the recent recipient of a kidney transplant that catapulted me out of a 5 and 1/2 year affair with a bulky dialysis machine and spun me into a brave new world of dares to be original and productive. I just turned 41. I feel like I must finish the process of re-invention, discovery and achievement of my personal and professional goals in no more than a decade and a half. No pressure right? But I am confident that I am an original, a quirky, multi-interest creative, who loves waxing philosophical with just about anyone brave enough to have a distinct and decided voice. I love great writing. I love to read essays and feature stories that transport me to a new space of intrigue, opinion, discovery and bravery. I love to write honestly, thought-provokingly, and cleverly. I'm turned on by delicious food, though not a traditional foodie. I don't need or look for overly sophisticated dishes to feel culturally literate. I have a PHd in people watching and I have decided that the art of reading people is the key to understanding society's deepest problems and most enlightened solutions. Other interests include, prayer, worship, bible study, black & white photography, basketball, art, graphic design, conversation and pondering the lyrics to moving songs.
