Dreams
By BostonSass, Wednesday, April 29, 2009Sunday night
It was quiet. The tv sleep timer had shut off and the neighbors upstairs stopped playing with their dog. 12:34. Next to my bed, he stood there. He wore a dark suit. Tall, very, very tall with sunken blue eyes. I looked up at him and immediately threw the heavy covers over my head. He was gone. The vision of this man startled me, but he didn’t scare me. He was just watching.
I woke up with my heart pounding and of course had thrown the covers off in the process. Who was that man? It was just a dream. Breathe...
Last night
Woke up to tell Randy that I thought I saw someone in our living room. “Can you cuddle me a little? Feel my heart?!” Fell back to sleep.
A Few Years Ago
Randy was living in a small apartment and the lease was coming to and end. The sun was about to rise and light crept through the towels hanging on the windows. Yes, towels. Not shades. A young boy walked into the bedroom. He was impatient. “Don’t worry. We are leaving soon. I promise,” I told him and he left.
Recently
It was as though I was looking out a window just after a snowstorm. The trees were covered and everything was beautiful and untouched. The snow had stopped and there was a log cabin.
Another night
I yelled at my dad. “I just want to know if you can help it or not?” I’ve had many dreams of yelling at my dad. Many.
Sugar or too much wine gives me terrible dreams. What’s with the people showing up? The strange flash of a snowstorm? Who is that man? What was he trying to tell me? I welcome an understanding.
Dreams fascinate me and some say can help guide us when we are awake.
Have you ever had a dream that stayed with you for longer than you wanted it to? Have you ever figured out what it means?
Will see what happens tonight. I had cake and a few brownies at work. Oops.
Maybe if that man shows up, I will offer to bake for him.
