I'm just old enough to remember microfiche and card catalogues. When I started my undergraduate education, the Internet existed, but barely. I dialed into America Online from my dorm room and waited for it to crackle and whine my way into the cyberuniverse. By graduate school, I had learned how to make my own web pages but still had to do research involving an actual library. Online databases had not gone completely full-text, and interlibrary loan remained the surest way to finish a project.
