It’s the story of our lives- boy meets girl, they fall in love, boy gets down on bended knee and what comes next is one of the most memorable events of their lives –a wedding. Romance and love come easy, but planning such a momentous occasion can be overwhelming and then comes David Tutera host of WE tv’s “My Fair Wedding”
As a host of one of the most popular wedding shows, Tutera brings his sense of style, elegance, and listening to each bride to help make her wedding dreams come true. He says the process of planning weddings comes naturally and like each bride he takes his job very personal.
“This season was full of promotion and it was about finding the storyline,” Tutera says. “It’s about finding out what these girls need. There are going to be a lot of tears in this new season.”
In each episode, Tutera sits down with each bride to learn about her and what she wants out of her big day. Tutera has learned each bride differs in likes and dislikes, but they all share a desire to make their wedding day the best day of their lives. As a wedding planner, Tutera takes on a great responsibility which means being conscientious of the feelings of each woman is important. As the host of “My Fair Wedding”, he decided to format a change when he realized weddings should be more personal and r reflect the taste of the bride and groom. Tutera says giving weddings a more personal touch is a growing trend. It’s no longer about the biggest wedding or the expensive cake, but more about what the wedding means to the couple.
“I am seeing now people making everything more personal,” Tutera says. “Now, it’s about planning the details of your wedding and telling the story of you as a couple and who you are. Everything from the style of music to printed material telling the story is becoming popular.”
The growing trend of personalizing the wedding story and creating an experience unique to the couples experience is creating an even bigger trend in wedding apparel. Tutera says gone are the days of traditional apparel. Brides are getting bolder with color choices and even opting for colorful wedding dresses.
“I’m seeing a lot of embracing of color. There are a lot of deep red and deep purple,” Tutera explains.
“The colors are bold and bright.”
Tutera, who plans weddings according to the vision of each bride, wanted to bring his expertise by using his brand to create memorable pieces. Recently, Tutera launched a bridal gown collection with Mon Cherie to give brides affordable options that fit their body types. He also created a jewelry line with Sears including wedding rings with emerald and sapphire stones. The jewelry line includes four collections titled Heirloom, Legacy, radiance and Eternal. Each piece is made with 100% 14k gold and white gold and ½ cctw diamonds .
“It’s the real deal and the same brand positioning,” Tutera says. “It’s all meant to inspire my fans.”
Tutera’s outlook on weddings grows with each new episode. Each new season gives Tutera another opportunity to inspire fans and recreate a love story like no other. After years of planning weddings around the world Tutera says he is still captivated by each new bride.
“I’ve been planning weddings for 25 years and what surprised me the most is that the story and concepts are real,” he says. “It still surprises me how popular the concept is to fans.”
