Texting while Driving

I have to admit, that this is one that I am guilty of. Driving and texting has become a very bad habit of mine. Even though I know how dangerous it can be. Even with my own personal realization of how quickly things can happen on the road when your concentration is elswhere, I must admit that I am still guilty of texting while driving. 

I read somewhere that texting while driving is just as dangerous as driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. I had to stop and think a bit after I read that because I am strongly against impaired drivers being on the road and hearing that my text messaging while driving was just as dangerous wasn’t shocking but it was an eye opener to say the least.

Currently seven states have bans against texting while driving. Many others are also in the process of trying to make texting while driving illegal. Do I feel that making texting while driving illegal a good idea, yes! Even though I am horribly guilty of this offense, I know how dangerous it can be. I have come very close to causing accidents myself, all because I was trying to respond to a text while I was driving to my destination.

I have vowed to myself that I will do my best to break this dangerous habit. If you now better you should try to do better, so that is what I plan to do. Nothing is that important that it can’t wait until I am off the road to respond. If it is, then I need to pull over and make the call to see what it going on. Texting while driving is dangerous and I will no longer play a part in it.
