Wow, I am actually here at Skirt…blogging! How cool is that?

As I am new here, I thought my first post should be an introduction to just who I am today. Today???? Well, I say today because I am in a season of life where I swear I am changing like a middle schooler! With all the life shifts that require me to be fluid, all the age issues (yes, I said it), hormones and changing family dynamics, I feel like I am just trying to figure out where I fit. Mostly, I spend a lot of time ~~living in denial~~ struggling with the fact that I don’t feel this old and coming to terms with that little reality gem!

So, before anything else changes, let me introduce myself. My name is Bella Michelle and I am a married (yes, actually happily) 40-something with 3 great kids. My daughter (and oldest child) abandoned me this year for college and left me to fend for myself in a household of men. My oldest son is 14 and my youngest son is 9. There is a lot of testosterone around here these days.

I love cooking, cleaning and waiting on my men hand and foot … Well, maybe not…but I do like cooking (though I am not a gourmet), entertaining, decorating, gardening, reading, occasional forays with the crafty hot glue gun, and as of late, I find myself doing a lot of writing. I do book reviews and some freelancing for regional magazines. I also blog at: www.SouthernSomedays.com. Most importantly, I try to don rose colored glasses for all occasions along with my white gloves. I am frugal but insist on Crane note cards and, lest I sound JUST too good to be true, have some deep issues with Lilly lust (as in Pulitzer) and I am a firm believer in retail therapy. Oh, and since I am being completely ~~neurotic~~ transparent, I have a wee bit of an addiction to magazines.

Yes, I know...it is a lot to digest.
