Does Sexism Really Sell?

A recent study of football game broadcasts by the Wall Street Journal found that “the average amount of time the ball is in play on the field during an NFL game is about 11 minutes.” What will take up the other three and a half hours? Commentary, replays, The Who and about 62 commercials.
Last year’s Super Bowl would have you believe that the crunch of Doritos snatched off women’s clothes and that Danica Patrick could be tricked into taking a webcamenhanced shower with “the German woman from the dean’s office.”
Does sexism really sell?
