Too cute to do the dishes

I'm too cute to do the dishes.  I'm too cute to stay inside.  I'm too cute to be your whipping boy.  I'm too cute to be in a bad mood.  To want to cry.  To want to give up.  To want to throw it all away.

It was one of those days that just sort of fell into place.  You know, you woke up with good hair, your clothes fit a little loose, when you ran the mascara through your lashes they actually looked like the ad said they would, no "inserts" needed.  Everything was going right.  Untill of course I emailed our Loan Officer to check in on our loan.

Sorry my dear, there is no way we can close this month.

What?!?!  Damn it!  It seems like I've gone through this all before.  Oh wait, that is because we have.  One month down the toilet because our original loan officer quit out of the blue.  Took almost 2 weeks to get the new one up to speed and all of us on the same page.  Then we have to take into account the holidays.  Simply not enough time to close the deal this month.

We are on hold, again.  Another month of waiting for our lives to start.  Another month of hearing Hubby complain about all the things he can't do because we haven't closed escrow.  That $700 saw you need for work, yep has to wait.  The insurance that you need to start that job for the HOA, yep on hold too.  Our emergency money, yep that's all on hold.  Our financial situation can not change until we close.  So that means sorry kids, no trips to the ER.  The transmition that keeps teasing me better hold it together for one more month.  The money is there, but I can't touch it.

Ever read "The Langoliers"?  that is how I feel right now.  Like everyone else has moved on and we are on pause, though the bills are not, school is not, work is not, stress is not.  We are.  In some parallel universe we've already moved into our home.  We've already gone out to buy that perfect table where we can all play monopoly or sorry in front of the fireplace.  In a different parallel universe we said screw the house hunting for now, let's go ahead and buy the plane tickets for Cancun.  I'd much rather be in one of those two places.  Instead I'm here, too cute to do the dishes, but not too cute to sit and sulk.

This is by far the most stressful time in my life.  Let's hope we never decide to renovate!
